Abstract. This study aims to preserve the historical memory of the contribution made by veterans of the Great Patriotic War to the establishment and development of the Department of Medical and Biological Chemistry at the Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University. It highlights their pivotal role in laying the foundations of scientific traditions, building a pedagogical school, and advancing the system of higher medical education in the region. Their legacy continues to shape academic and research excellence at the university.
